About You, "The Professional"...
How I was introduced to the professional diving industry:
My first dive was a DSD with Jack's Dive Locker in Hawaii in 1982. From that moment, I was hooked, and began building my diving education. I was certified as a PADI instructor by Keith Mattsen on Mother's Day 1994 and been teaching, educating, & traveling the world ever since! Hard to believe 18 years have flown by since that great day!
What I like best about my job:
I love guiding people to go places they wouldn't ordinarily go by themselves. I feel so priveleged with the gift of trust that they place in my hands to show them 1) how to scuba dive and 2) how to learn about all the beauty of the underwater world. This is what truly fills my sails!
Words of wisdom for those starting their career in the diving industry:
As my Course Director told me thousands of dives ago, "As an instructor, you now have a license to learn". Never stop learning, never stop caring, never stop having fun!
Best way to keep a competitive edge:
Make each interaction with every person you meet an opportunity to create a relationship. Building a business of referral networks will work wonders!
Biggest change I have seen in the professional diving industry since I started:
Advances in education, marketing, and networking thru the internet. Information processing is lightyears ahead of where it was when I first started!
Walt Disney - he kept pursing the life of his dreams against many obstacles, & has brought happiness to millions.

How I like to spend my free time:
I love to cycle and have completed several century rides.
"When you decide, you figure out HOW... UNTIL you decide, you figure out IF."
Something people would be surprised to learn about me:
I used to compete in snow skiing on the pro circuit; and when I was 17, I actually traveled with a carnival! I've been a mid-wife, a Financial Advisor, and I know a little of about 7 languages...
My 5 dream Jeopardy categories:
Sea Creatures, Food, Languages, Diving, Bicycle parts! Lol
