About You and Isla Nena Scuba...
My job function in the company:
About Isla Nena Scuba:
Isla Nena Scuba is a small owner-operated business. We focus on customer service and serious dive education. We pride ourselves on our social and environmental practices and superior services.
We want to make our island a destination for experienced divers and to train novices to become proficient, responsible, environmentally conscious divers.
About You, "The Professional"...
How I was introduced to the professional diving industry:
My husband has been diving since he was 11 years old. On our honeymoon he suggested a Discover Scuba class. I loved it. Years later, when we moved away from New York and our high power jobs to a Caribbean island, it was clear that he was going to work in the dive industry professionally. He managed a couple of dive centers over the years and I got my divemaster training along the way. Now we decided to open our own business and are very happy about it.
What I like best about my job:
I used to sit in front of the computer all day long all by my lonesome self. Now I get to interact with people, be out in the sun light, be physically active, see beautiful sights, aah heaven!
Words of wisdom for those starting their career in the diving industry:
No idea, we're only just starting out ourselves.
Best way to keep a competitive edge:
Find a niche for yourself and occupy that firmly.
Biggest change I have seen in the professional diving industry since I started:
Too soon to say.
About You, "The Person"...
Something you'd find on my bucket list:
How I like to spend my free time:
Something people would be surprised to learn about me:
I used to be a blacksmith.
