About You and CETATEK PRODUCTS INC...

My name:
Simon Morris

My job function in the company:
VP Marketing & Sales

Years in business:
2 years

About CETATEK PRODUCTS INC:
CETATEK is the manufacturer of the new aquabionic warp1 fin that is arriving on the market around the world now. We are based in North Vancouver, BC, home to some of the world's best cold water diving.

Goal(s) for 2013:
Introduce our fins in every major global market.

Greatest achievement in 2012:
Getting noticed on four continents in a tough market!

About You, "The Professional"...

What I find most rewarding about my job:
Bringing a completely new fin technology to the world.

What I am most proud of (professionally):
This is my fortieth year in the dive industry - and I'm only 55! It has been great to work for several of the majors, and design and introduce new products to market.

Greatest piece of business advice I ever received:
"You can't learn when you are talking."

Where I see myself and/or business in 5 years:
I hope CETATEK will be known as a company to watch for new and innovative products in every category.

About You, "The Person"...

Favorite place to dive:
I am also a bronze sculptor, the creator of the mermaids at Powell River BC and Grand Cayman, so those sites are two favorites. I also love Browning Wall near Port Hardy BC. I've been fortunate enough to dive in England, Norway, France, Italy, all over North America, Asia, Australia Hawaii and Grand Cayman, but I'm a cold water guy, and really love Browning.

Most memorable dive experience:
Spinner Dolphins on the big island, both mermaid installation dives, and in general too many to recall...

Favorite quote:
Winston Churchill - "When you are going through Hell....Keep going!"

Something people would be surprised to learn about me:
I think most people I know are aware of my long tenure in the diving industry, but fewer know about my career as a sculptor. It is a much more difficult path than the diving industry -which is saying a lot! - but is also very rewarding. www.sculptorsimonmorris.com
