About You and Charlie Hudson Writes...

My name:
Charlie (Charlotte) Hudson

My job function in the company:
President and CEO

Years in business:
13 years

About Charlie Hudson Writes:
Charlie Hudson Writes, offers freelance writing that includes entertaining fiction, non-fiction, and technical writing with a strong focus on diving.

Goal(s) for 2013:
Become a favorite writer within the scuba community for leisure reading; become a "go-to" writer for web, brochure, etc., content.

Greatest achievement in 2012:
Within a six month period, released "False Front" (another scuba-themed novel), "Small Town Lies" and "Small Town Haven" (women's fiction); was key player in multiple centennial writing projects for the City of Homestead, Florida, and primary writer the 2013-2014 Chamber of Commerce Directory (Homestead and Florida City)

About You, "The Professional"...

What I find most rewarding about my job:
I get to combine my love of writing with scuba. How much better does it get than that?

What I am most proud of (professionally):
Having the ability to write the spectrum of fiction, non-fiction and technical content.

Greatest piece of business advice I ever received:
Don't quit. If one path is closed to you, find another way.

Where I see myself and/or business in 5 years:
With my books loaded on lots of Kindles and Nooks and in the bookcases of divers everywhere.

About You, "The Person"...

Favorite place to dive:
Our own Key Largo, of course, and we love St Croix.

Most memorable dive experience:
For the moment, that would be Fiji.

Favorite quote:
"When you find yourself at the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." Thomas Jefferson

Something people would be surprised to learn about me:
I was an "inadvertent pioneer" in the Army because I entered as the Women's Army Corps transitioned into the regular Army. I held a number of jobs that had not previously been held by a woman.
