COVID-19: Message to Our Members & Industry
Monday, March 23, 2020
We know this is a very difficult time for businesses of all sizes around the world as we try to weather the impact of COVID-19 on all aspects of life. Our thoughts go out to those whose loved ones have been directly impacted by the virus, and we wish everyone the best of health.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate this situation together and work through the challenges it presents to our industry.
We want you to know that we are closely monitoring the situation and currently anticipate hosting DEMA Show in New Orleans in November 2020, as scheduled.
As an association, we look forward to connecting with you and the industry at the Show. After much social distancing and isolation, we look forward to the future where the virus is no longer a global threat and for the opportunity to reconnect with one another in person and embrace invaluable interpersonal relationships. We believe that despite the circumstances we are currently facing, perhaps we can find comfort in knowing that human interaction may soon hold a whole new meaning and value for us.
Our mission is to bring businesses together to grow the diving industry worldwide, and we want you to know that we are in this together. DEMA will continue to support our Members and the industry. We want to help you overcome the challenges you are facing and work with you toward better times ahead.
DEMA will continue to provide you with resources and updates on the COVID-19 situation.
- Here you will find a page we update daily with statistics, resources and articles from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other reputable sources.
- DEMA has joined with the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable, a coalition of recreational businesses, to request funding from the federal government to help all recreation businesses, including those in the diving industry. DEMA is also communicating with federal agencies such as the Small Business Administration to obtain access to funds in this crisis.
- Share with us what you are doing to help your business succeed during this crisis. We’d love to be able to share the advice, best practices, and experiences of our Members with the industry to help us get through this together.
Thank you for choosing DEMA as your industry association. We appreciate you and we are here to help.
