Legislative & Environmental Advocacy

DEMA monitors legislative activity around the US and the world and lends assistance where needed, especially when legislation could set precedents that impact the overall industry. DEMA’s Public Policy Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding specific bills that are relevant to DEMA’s adopted Public Policy Position Statements. These statements cover matters of:

Business Management
Communications
Employment Practices and 40-Hour Work Week
Environmental Issues
Fair Government Practices
Health Care Legislation
Insurance and Liability Protection
Safety Regulations
Workers Compensation Insurance
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling
